Dr. Kevin C. Walde earned his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Southeast Missouri State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry, where he was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society while graduating with distinction. He then decided to pursue his Master of Science in Orthodontics and was accepted at St. Louis University where he completed the residency program in 1985. Since 1994, Dr. Walde has served as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Orthodontics at St. Louis University's Center for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Walde frequently attends continuing education courses to learn about the latest advances in orthodontic techniques and technology. He has also lectured across the United States, Europe, and South America on various orthodontic subjects.
Dr. Walde is a member of the following organizations: American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, Greater St. Louis Dental Society (Southwest Counties District), The College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics, World Federation of Orthodontics, and the Greater St. Louis Orthodontic Study Club. Dr. Walde is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Dentists. In 2018, Dr. Walde was appointed Executive Director of the Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation.
Dr. Walde grew up in Washington, Missouri and has been married to Deborah (Debbie) Turek Walde for 44 years. They have three children and nine grandchildren. Dr. Walde is very involved with the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Franklin County Area United Way for two three-year terms. He has also served as a leader for the Explorer Scouts, Little League sports coach, and the Show Me Smiles Chapter of the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation. Dr. Walde has traveled to Honduras on several occasions with the Washington Overseas Mission. In 2016, Dr. Walde and a friend formed OxFest Charities, LLC, a nonprofit organization that funds scholarships and unmet student needs for local students. To date they have donated more than $178,000 to charitable causes. In 2018, Dr. Walde joined the Board of Directors for Whole Kids Outreach, whose mission is to help children live full lives free from abuse, neglect, and illness.
Dr. Walde enjoys camping, fishing, canoeing, and snow skiing. He is also interested in the latest high-tech gadgets on the market and collects music, new and old.
